On Thursday the 30th October, 2014 more than 125 people gathered together to celebrate Diwali Festival at the Dominion Arts and Library Centre, 112, The Green, Southall.
The General Secretary of the Association Mr.Ajit Singh Mahajan welcomed all the members and Guests and wished them HAPPY DIWALI on behalf of the Management, which is also famous and know as Babdi Chhore Divasi.
He further stated that Diwali Festival is celebrated by all Hindus, Sikhs and Jains and being a joint festival it makes it spectacular and most enjoyable. It is also known as the festival of Lights, Entertainment and Exchange of Sweetmeat (Mithai). The Event is celebrated by cross section of our society including the Prime Minister.
M/s Gurdip Singh Chief Executive Officer and Pal Jhalli Presenter from the Sikh Channel were also there to cover the programme .Other Guests included Mr Gurmail Singh Malhi President Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall, Mr Jaskeran Singh Managing editor Pardes Weekly, Mr Diljit Bhara Sikhs In Hockey Project and a number of other Guests.
Mr Gurmail Singh Malhi gave best wishes for the festival and the forthcoming Guru Nanak Devjis Birthday. One of our Members Mr Jagjit Singh Rai also celebrated his 80th Birthday on this day by distributing ladooes to all.
Mr Daljit Singh Grewal, Treasurer, highlighted the Signe fence of the event in the modern day society. Mr Grewal also thanked both Mr Malhi and Jaskern for their tremendous support for our association. At the end our Chairman Mr. Desraj Singh Dahele warmly thanked our members and guests alike. Spurious Vegetarian Lunch was served by our Social Secretary Mr. Bakshish Singh Panesar and his devoted team and was enjoyed by both the Guests and our members.
The Charmian and other committee members presented Mr Jagjit Rai birthday card signed by over 120 people.
